Abstract

Type 2 diabetes is a common metabolic disorder associated with significant long-term health complications. This study examines the prevalence of type 2 diabetes and identifies major risk factors among adults. Information is assessed on age, body mass index, family history, dietary habits, physical activity, smoking, alcohol consumption, sleep patterns, and sedentary behavior. Blood glucose status is considered to identify individuals with diabetes or increased metabolic risk. The findings suggest that type 2 diabetes is more common among adults with excess body weight, low physical activity, unhealthy dietary practices, and a positive family history of diabetes. Increasing age, prolonged sedentary behavior, inadequate sleep, and other lifestyle-related factors may further contribute to disease risk. The study highlights the importance of early screening, healthy weight management, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and lifestyle education in reducing the burden of type 2 diabetes and preventing associated complications among adults.
